When you see me knitting a same design twice, that means I really enjoy making it! Thorn is a design that I made twice using Baah! La Jolla and The Plucky Knitter Primo fingering! Both yarn are wonderful to work with.
I showed my brother online once I finished the grey version and he wanted me to name this shawl “Bed of Roses”. I checked real quick from the Ravelry and there are few patterns already taken the name. Therefore, I picked Thorn instead. Thorn is a very special characteristic of roses and it is just perfect for this shawl.
Thorn is a beautiful textural lace shawl that only requires easy skill of lace knitting. This pattern provides three sizes; small, medium and large and it is very easily adjustable to larger size as you wish. Like most of my patterns, Thorn has both charted and written patterns. Oh, I forgot to mention that it is another bottom up shawl of mine. π
The decorative decrease stitches at Part I pattern bring a very 3D curvy textured effect to the shawl and they are fun to make. When it comes to the 2nd part of shawl, the decorative decrease stitches work another wonder as solid frame around the diagonal pattern. Lace knitting is just fun!
Thorn is now available for sales at my Ravelry and ETSY stores. I really can’t wait to see Thorn in other beautiful colorway! Oh, there is a good news that I want to shout out!!! Just another one more week of HOT weather, the temperature finally will come down much lower~ Hooray! Bye bye Summer and welcome beautiful Falls!
