This year Halloween was almost same as previous years. We went to Diana’s and have given away bunch of candies to thousands of kids. (Ok! Not thousands probably hundreds) but weirdly that they were adults mixed in and came houses to houses asked for candies too. The weather was fantastic and spooky enough for a Halloween night. It is always nice to hang out with Diana and Dale! Andy and Vi were with us this year too, so we had a merrier Halloween!
1st of November is always exciting. It indicates that the year-end is REALLY here and you will get to eat turkey real soon and you have to work on Christmas shopping soon too! But this year 11.1.11 is extraordinarily EXCITING! Finally, finally… Brooklyn Tweed has launched their first fingering weight yarn – LoftCollection!
Ever since Shelter, the tweed worsted weight yarn is launched, I have been waiting impatiently for their fingering weight yarn. Not to mention how much I love tweed and fingering weight yarn, I personally also love Brooklyn Tweed’s style very very much. They have been doing such great job from yarn to design. They have a whole new series of designs come with the LOFT launching. You can either go to their site to have a look or you can download the PDF version here. The photographs in the LOFT book are all taken by Jared Flood and we all know he can take real good photos. Not only he is good at taking photos, but also designing, knitting! He is just an awesome artist!
Loft is a softspun 2-ply fingering weight yarn, made from the fleece of Wyoming-grown Targhee-Columbia sheep and it is grown, designed, and produced in America; There are 32 shades in the Loft collection and I have ordered a shade card! The yardage of Loft is 275yard/50gm in a skein and the retail price is 14.50usd per skein. I can’t wait to pick some color and order some to play with! While I am waiting patiently for the shade card, I better be focus on my Beatnik pullover.
Let’s look at some pages of the Loft book and drool over the yarn and patterns! I am so going to design a shawl with Loft! 🙂
Oh, wow! So many wonderful colors. I’m drooling! When will I have time to knit them all?
You gotta start with your favourite color first I guess! 😀
