DFW Fiber Fest 2011 was held at Grapevine Convention Center from 8th – 10th of April. I wanted to go badly but I am a very limited driver because I still do not dare to get on the highway here. ( I still think merging into the highway from service road is kinda scary and I can’t handle it! )
Diane knows about my situation and she is so nice to take me there at the last day of the fest. I was really excited as it is the first fest that I ever had my whole life. She came pick me up around 1:30pm and it took us about 30mins to get there.
It was not a very big fest but Anne Hanson and other famous knitting gurus were to give some classes. I did not participate in any classes but I did have fun at the vendors hall buying some gorgeous fingering yarn. Before I came to the fest, I already checked out the vendor list and Madelinetosh interests me the most.
I have some of their sock yarn and merino light and I really like them! So, it was just excited to know that they will have a booth at this fest. I managed to grab 3 skein of merino light and 2 skein of prairie last Sunday and I LOVE THEM all! They are so soft, nicely spun and the intense color are just to die for. I really really can’t wait to knit them!
Also, I bought a cute knitting project bag from Diana Couture. This little bag has a name, Yarn Owl. I love the owl fabric she used for this bag and also the color of the fabric. It is just soo cute! =)
I am so glad that I made it to this year DFW Fiber Fest and I really hope to attend other fiber fest that will be held at other states. More importantly, I should improve my driving skill and limit so I can go everywhere I want!
