Time for some Cotton Yarn

Weather has been weird lately. It can be 80s hot today and 62 cold the next day. We had some bad hailing and tornado watch out last week but nothing terrible happened. I am glad that we got some rain before the summer hits us.

I remember that I used to love knitting with cotton yarn before I am so into wool fingering. I have bought many Rowan 4 ply cotton in the past and they are all stored nicely in my craft room for more than a year. Few days ago, I actually have an urge to dig out some cotton yarn, to make a top.

Designing a summer blouse/top can be interesting and fun but I need to do more reading about the sizing. Another problem that I have would be getting the right model. I always make a size small or medium for my top design and myself is a XL or XXL. Therefore, I need to get a model for any top. Probably I should stick with my favourite wool DK or fingering yarn and make a vest for Falls. Aah, I am being too indecisive here!

I started subscribed Sundara Yarn Collection last month and finally the first package arrived few days ago. To be honest, I was very excited about this new yarn base and subscription. I am always a big fans of Sundara yarn. I love the nicely spun texture of the yarn, and also the sheen and glows on them. With this new yarn base, 100% superwash fingering merino 492yard/added into Sundara’s family, I am really really thrilled and excited about it.

As usual, the yarn arrived nicely packed in a USPS box, wrapped with transparent bag and royal blue tissue paper. Once I removed the tissue, I saw a skein of yellow yarn and a blue turquoise yarn in the bag. Hmmm, the light yellow definitely not my kind of color but the blue turquoise is something I would like to try out. I later found out, they are Butter Cream and Spanish Tile.

SYC have a much better yardage than Sundara Sock but they are not as tightly spun as the Sock. Also, I find that there are more sheen on the Socks as well. SYC are soft and pretty nevertheless just the Butter Cream is not something excites me much. I will keep the subscription going and see what comes in next month. I can’t complain much about it due to the good yardage and price overall, can I?
